This 3-credit seminar course will focus on the “design development” phase of a project –-
that critical stage following the schematic design where the construction details are
gradually developed.  Emphasis will be placed on ensuring the ideas of the original
conceptual design are maintained, while addressing the technical concerns.

Students will undertake individual design projects of their choice, single-family residential
in scale and primarily of light wood frame construction.  Presentation and discussion of
the progress of their projects will occupy the major portion of the class time, along with
some presentations of critical material.

This course assumes students have completed Architectural Technology 1 and 2 or
the equivalent, and have an interest in design of the aesthetic and technical aspects of the
building.
