Design Media 2
Sort Courses By:
Design Media 2 takes its structure from the architectural phases of services as published in the AIBC Tariff of Fees and the Canadian Handbook of Practice for Architects, and exercises are organized in modules whose themes overlap with problems commonly encountered during the established phases of services. The course begins with a short design exercise that is further development through animation, following which students use the parametric modeling software Grasshopper to evaluate an assigned excerpt of the Building Code (a stair or ramp, for instance) as it applies to a fragment of their work. The final primary phase of their work is its production by others: using a combination of the available digital output machines, students refine and ‘construct’ the work of their classmates.
