Process and Practice of Architecture covers a wide number of professional practice topics that are essential knowledge for the practicing architect. These topics range from regulatory controls over the profession; different ways of carrying on architectural practice; employment law; copyright law; project delivery models; project permitting and letters of assurance; contracts; professional negligence and liability; tendering; builders liens; insurance; bonding; dispute resolution in the construction industry and many more. The course is primarily in lecture format with extensive class discussion on topical issues however students are also required to develop a working knowledge of certain industry standard forms of contract through self directed study.
