Our programs contribute significantly to the dialogue, education, research, and innovation within the architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design professions, and play a positive role at the University of British Columbia and in the wider community. Our undergraduate, professional, and research programs equip you with the necessary design, technical, and intellectual leadership to contribute to a built environment that supports civil and sustainable patterns of living.

Our Bachelor of Environmental Design degree provides you with an interdisciplinary foundation in design and critical thinking.

Our professional Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture degrees cultivate conscious and inquisitive designers with an aptitude for critical inquiry and a sense of public responsibility. As the first school in Canada, we also offer the option to pursue both degrees concurrently.

Our post-professional Master of Urban Design degree equips future urban designers with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the challenges of modern urban growth.

Our research (“Advanced Studies”) degrees in architecture and landscape architecture encourage you to expand the boundaries of your current knowledge in the discipline through innovative and specialized research.

We do not offer PhD degrees, but you do have opportunities to pursue doctoral research directly or to extend the work of research degrees in other academic units within UBC, including the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program or the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability.
