Description
The second studio in the sequence focuses on site-to-building design, interpretation and organization of program, and material and craft conceptualization, development, and documentation. You will investigate and interpret functional programs at different scales.
Working within the physical extents and limits of the projects’ sites, you will incorporate basic environmental factors such as sun, wind, and noise, public and private relationships, as well as factors such as service access or parking into the projects’ programs. Understanding different methods of building and differentiating material systems from structure, to skin, to screen, you will document the functional relationships of the programs in plans, sections, and physical models.
