Architecture and Urbanism: Vancouver Region in Context
Using Vancouver as a laboratory, this course examines the historical transformation of the built environment, and how this has affected particular activities, land uses, and social groups within the region. It also examines the social, economic, and political interactions that contribute to the formation of the built environment.
You will explore architecture and urbanization as essential elements of social, political, and environmental transformation, and investigate these transformations across time. By the end of the course, you will be able to observe, analyze, and describe the defining characteristics of the built environment using formal and technical vocabulary.
