SALA and COVID-19

A message to members and friends of the SALA community

Members and friends of the SALA community,

It will not be news that governments and institutions around the world are grappling with the rapid spread and uncertain implications of the COVID-19 pandemic. As this situation evolves rapidly and unpredictably, it has precipitated unprecedented public health and safety measures at the University of British Columbia.

On Friday, March 13 2020, UBC cancelled all in-person class meetings, all on-campus and off-campus gatherings, and international exchanges through the end of the current semester.  Until further notice, all SALA events, on- and off-campus, are cancelled or postponed. Please accept our apologies for this abrupt change of plans.

While we sincerely regret the inconvenience and impact of these decisions for the broader SALA community, the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and those with whom we interact every day must be our highest priority.

For the most current information and announcements related to UBC's response to COVID-19, please consult the campus information and announcements page.
