This social housing project, located at Main and Sixth, prioritizes resident health and equality within an affordable housing scheme. The project focuses on supporting multi-generational families by aggregating a series of flexible, modular units, and establishing communal spaces that encourage social interaction between residents. The form is driven by the desire to maximize the flow of light and air through the building, creating a series of voids, to be used as community space and exterior circulation. Circulation is every other floor, allowing for double-height circulation space, providing natural light for the community gardens bordering the circulation space. The massing emphasizes the importance of equality and community within social housing, by becoming a village made of neighborhoods within the overall scheme, promoting a healthy and active environment within the housing.
