Our province has recently enacted major housing legislation that dramatically changes the powers of city councils, city planning officials, and citizens while altering the future practices of architects, landscape architects, developers and urban designers. Bills 44, 46 and 47 specifically blame the processes of local control over land use for the housing crisis. But is this true? We have assembled informed speakers to look at the evidence from various points of view including economists, politicians, and academia. We hope to reach consensus.
