Our mentorship program matches final-year students in our professional graduate programs with local practitioners. Our mentors offer guidance as you transition from the academic to professional environment. They can also offer feedback on your graduate project, attend reviews, as well as offer advice on your job search. Our mentors come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and include a number of SALA alumni.
Mentors and mentees are matched in early October. Pairs are encouraged to meet at least three times during the academic year, including a job shadowing day. You are asked to maintain a record of meetings with your mentor and submit a brief report about your experience at the end of the school year. Participation in the program is voluntary.
Are you a professional interested in becoming a mentor? Email mentoring@sala.ubc.ca before mid-September.
