Carve Park Plan

There is a strong juxtaposition between the heavily present urban infrastructure and small moments of ecology on the existing site of East Park on the south shore of false creek. This tension speaks to the historic approach to the shore and planting that has prioritized urban development over ecology. The green versus grey. Carve Park aspires to expand from this dichotomy to create a space of colour in the city.

To us colour means improved site richness, making room for vibrant ecology together with lively community, enhancing the relationship between both and creating a better connection to place. Mounds and depressions create opportunities for diverse ecological zones and spatial experiences, while cutting and retaining makes space for people and ecology to move and gather. Carve Park, provides the opportunity for people to question and understand their place within and between the urban and the ecological, fostering improved relationships between people, community, and ecology.
