GTA | ARCH 504 | DES 321 W1: Architectural History I

Winter 2025 term 1 up to 2 open positions 90 Masters, 110 PhD hours total, approximately 7 Masters, 8.5 PhD hours per week at $38.65/hour

Overview of duties

Attend lectures; Lead discussion groups for both graduate and undergraduate students on the lecture content and readings; Attend weekly planning meetings; Grade undergraduate assignments; Coordinate discussions with graduate and undergraduate students on possible paper topics and research methods. There may be an opportunity to devise in-class activities appropriate to lectures and discussion and an option to prepare and present an in-class mini-lecture. Job candidates at a PhD level will be involved in grading Masters students as well.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Masters or PhD program at SALA or a related field. Preference will be given to students enrolled in SALA’s PhD program. Completion of required MArch history-theory sequence or undergraduate degree in architectural or art history or equivalent is preferred. Will also consider MArch candidates with undergraduate degrees in the humanities. Demonstrable mastery of the course academic material and critical thinking. Communication abilities to guide student learning and lead discussion groups. Some teaching experience preferred.

Include the percentage grades you received in those classes and your current standing GPA. Please attach a writing sample that demonstrates critical thinking on an architectural history topic.
