GTA | DES 232: Material Culture
Overview of duties
Responsibilities will include preparing course materials, leading and managing discussions within the sessions, and grading assignments, quizzes and exams. Must be available during class time, office hours once a week and for a weekend workshop in February, and have an interest in teaching and interacting with undergraduate students.
Qualifications
Must be a student in the Landscape Architecture or Architecture graduate programs. Mastery of the course academic material. Ability to help students actively learn. Ability to explain subject matter clearly and logically. Ability to effectively lead discussion groups that facilitate student learning. Ability to effectively assists student learning by enabling different sets of skills, including oral and verbal communications, problem solving, critical thinking, numeracy, teamwork, leadership, planning.
Applicants should have a strong interest in materials and hands on making. The class is in person, with TA’s needed at most classes and once a week for in person office hours.

TA’s need to be at most classes: Wed + Fri 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., once a week for in-person office hours, and at a Workshop on Saturday February 7th and Sunday February 8th for 4 hours each day.
Please note, total hours divided equally across 16 week term. 4% vacation will be added to total hours.
