GTA | DES 302: Design Studio IV
Overview of duties
The ideal candidate will be a strong design thinker with a proven ability to work iteratively and imaginatively. The primary tasks of the GTA will be one-on-one desk crits with students, review work in pin-ups and discussions, give tutorials on drawing and model-building methods, field questions from students via email and other modes of communication, and organize logistics. Class attendance is required.
Qualifications
Current enrollment in the MLA, MARCLA or MASLA program.
• Ability to effectively communicate with instructor and students (both verbal and written)
• Patience and precision in explaining course material and technical tools to facilitate student learning
• Mastery of foundational design principles, critical thinking, and creative problem solving
• Ability to relay information in a concise and organized manner
• Effective and logical planner that displays good team building skills
• Strong digital and analog drawing and modeling skills
• Possesses knowledge of Vancouver from previous studies
• Demonstrates ability to think across scales in portfolio sample
