MArch student Lukas Ewing has received the 2023 Michael Evamy Scholarship. Presented by DIALOG, the scholarship is awarded to a Canadian student in their second last year of study, who will undertake a research project of interest. Lukas’ project, titled “From One to Another,” will explore the architectural spaces of intercountry child adoption. Drawing from the experience of his adoption from Vietnam to North America, his proposal speculates how the built environment can ease moments of transition.

“We are so fortunate to live in a country that welcomes thousands of immigrants every year. Lukas’ thesis encourages us to refocus on architecture for humanity,” said Nicole Moyo, DIALOG urban designer, intern architect and jury member.
