The recently-announced recipients of the 2020 Governor General’s Medals in Architecture featured a number of SALA alumni, faculty, and friends.

SHAPE Architecture, PECHET Studio, and Group 2 Architects partnered on the South Haven Centre for Remembrance in Edmonton, Alberta. The team featured SHAPE partner and SALA alum Nick Sully, current faculty member and alum Bill Pechet, and BArch/MArch alumni Benjamin Fisher, Anneliese Fris, Scott Keck, Jessica McGillivray, and Avery Titchosky.

Professor Emeritus Patricia Patkau was part of the leadership team of the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver.

Our campus is also the site of a recognized project. The UBC Aquatic Centre was designed by Acton Ostry Architects and MJMA. Another Vancouver-based winner is the Dock Building by Michael Green Architecture.
