The 2025 Keats Camps Design Build joins a tenure of several architecturally focused projects sited on Keats Island in Howe Sound, and emphasized landscape-focused intervention. This project involved the design of shading, seating, planting, and earthwork throughout the nearly 20-acre campus to improve site usability and comfort for attendees of Keats Camps’ annual camping and retreat programs. The design build begins as a 4-month design elective in which SALA MLA and M.Arch students undertake design, detailing and scheduling. The construction phase takes place over 6 weeks in early summer, during which time students lived on Keats Island full time.
