GTA | LARC 582L/DES 450L: Transformative botanical representations
Overview of duties
Assist students with their work in progress (evaluating and critiquing informally) during twice-weekly sessions. Advise students on analog and digital workflows in the production of design drawings, including alternatives depending on the desired outcome. Responsible for assisting with tutorial development & recording, lecture preparation and discussion of suggested readings.
Qualifications
Current or recently graduated MLA students may apply. Applicants should have demonstrated ability with accurate drafting, 3D modelling and preparation of atmospheric drawings including stylistic explorations. Must have practical working knowledge of Rhino, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as hand-sketching and use of analog media. Basic working knowledge of Grasshopper and rendering engines such as Twinmotion or Lumion would be an asset. Any skills/interest in typography, layout and graphic design should be emphasized in the application.
Applicants must have the ability to explain drafting, modelling & drawing clearly and logically in different ways. Applicants must also be able to assess and critique student work in a constructive, kind manner. Pro-active, self-initiated applicants who are prepared to make suggestions to respond flexibly to student requests are highly desired!
