An exploration of the changes occurring in cities across the globe, the form and function of which are being impacted by three linked phenomena: declining birth rates, rural to urban migration and rising inequality.
The changing context for future urban designers is unpacked and implications for form, function, and social responsibility for urban design examined.
Students will first engage the material in the form of lectures and readings and then will be challenged to add to the discourse with research of their own.
