A two-week collaboration between the spring 2020 ENDS 401 studio led by Bill Pechet and Holly Schmidt, artist-in-residence with the UBC Outdoor Art program and the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, has been featured by Peripheral Review.
During her residency, Schmidt is creating opportunities for members of the UBC community to connect to the plant life around them. In this particular collaboration, ENDS students were broken into small teams and tasked with designing a nomadic pavilion that could potentially be installed on campus. In her piece, Laura Beshears explores these digital pavilions through the lens of relational aesthetics.
