Leg in Boot Square and the adjacent seawall edge presents many opportunities for relocation and reinforcement due the threat of rising sea levels. This proposed intervention is designed to encourage experiences that cultivate a playful relationship between users and the water. By stretching out the landscape and pulling it out towards the body of water, this project generates a rippled soft scape that slows the water down as it approaches and mitigates erosion. This soft scape forms pools of water that vary with the tides creating a unique experience for each user. This re-connects Leg in Boot Square with it’s proximity to False Creek, making water a key element of engagement.
